Many times I would help my grandma make a huge Tupperware bowl of Potato salad to take to church dinners or family dinners, she made THE BEST Potato salad and everyone would rave and clean out her dish!
Here is what we did
you will need
approx 5lb potatos
miracle whip or Mayo
dill pickles
sweet yellow onion
mustard
pickle juice
salt
pepper
Use about 5lbs of potatos
peel potatos and cut up in chunks and place in a big pan
just cover with water and bring to a boil, then boil until tender and ready to mash
Drain and mash, add salt and pepper to taste
let cool a little then add
1 1/2 cups miracle whip or mayo
1 tablespoon of mustard
1/3 to 1/2 cup pickle juice from the jar of dill pickles
1 cup finely chopped onion
1 1/2 cup finely chopped pickles
Mix well and chill to serve
you can also add boiled chopped up eggs if you desire
and on the mayo you can add more or less depending on your taste
the one problem with cooking from scratch it is so hard to duplicate
recipes, since we tend to add a little of this or that without measuring
I hope if you try it you enjoy!
This is one of my favorites for holiday meals, with barbeque beef sandwiches,
fried chicken etc. Always get many raves on this recipe and like my grandma always said the secret to our tasty potato salad is the pickle juice :)

My Mom's Best Cranberry Salad *SO GOOD* not like regular cranberry sauce
This is very light and refreshing sweet and only slightly tart, not like the traditional cranberry sauce,
this is something Mom has always made on Thanksgiving and Christmas and at the holidays!
***WAY TOO GOOD***
2 cups RAW Chopped up Cranberries (you can use food processor-or I use my Tupperware quick chef to chop it up)
3 cups Miniature Marshmallows
3/4 cup Sugar
*Combine the first 3 ingredients & chill overnight
then the next day add
2 cups of diced unpeeled apples
1/2 cup sliced grapes
1/2 cup chopped pecans (you can leave this out if desired)
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup of whipped Cream (the small liquid whipping cream you can buy whipped)
add remaining ingredients except the whipped topping ~Mix well then FOLD In the Whipped Cream!

Taco Salad for a crowd
Here is a really great salad that is always a hit and
SUPER EASY TO MAKE AND SERVES ALOT!!!
TACO SALAD
2 bags of precut garden salad or two heads of lettuce chopped
1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or cheddar/jack
1 can pinto beans (Drained)
2 tomatoes chopped up
1 bunch of green onions chopped up
2 cups fritos corn chips
1 bottle of Catalina Salad dressing
Just mix all together and voila!
If you make it the night before just wait to toss in the chips and the dressing right before serving or the day of so the chips stay crispy!
This fits great into the large Tupperware thatsa bowl or fix n mix bowl!
Also you can cut the recipe down but still just use the whole can of pinto beans I have made this in large or small batches! But it always Disappears!
